Vehicle Workshop Chemicals: Petrol, Benzene, Used Oil & Degreasers

About Course

Garage and valeting work brings regular contact with petrol, used engine oil, solvents and cleaning products. Based on HSE’s motor vehicle repair guidance, this course explains the health risks – from dermatitis to skin cancer and blood disorders – and the practical controls for draining fuel, handling oil, degreasing, valeting and choosing gloves.

This course gives general awareness of chemical risks in vehicle workshops based on HSE guidance. It is not medical advice and does not replace a COSHH assessment or safety data sheet advice.
