Car Theory Test Practice: Safety Margins, Stopping Distances & Bad Weather

Wishlist Share

About Course

Revise the “safety margins” topic of the car theory test: the Highway Code’s typical stopping distances, following gaps, and how rain, ice, snow, fog, wind and heat change the space you need. Includes the stopping distance table, a memory method and worked examples. Ends with a timed 15-question practice test at the real test’s pace and pass standard.

Tutwoo is an independent learning provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the DVLA, the Department for Transport or any test provider. All questions are original practice questions written by Tutwoo from the Highway Code and Know Your Traffic Signs – they are not taken from DVSA’s revision question bank or the real test. This course covers the multiple-choice part of the car theory test only; the hazard perception part is a separate video-based test. Book your real theory test only through GOV.UK (gov.uk/book-theory-test; in Northern Ireland, through nidirect).
