Electroplating Mists: Controlling Chromium VI & Nickel Exposure

About Course

Electroplating tanks can release mists containing hexavalent chromium and nickel compounds – respiratory sensitisers that can cause occupational asthma. Based on HSE research with the Surface Engineering Association, this course explains the health risks, how exposure happens through breathing, skin and contaminated clothing, and the controls that make a real difference, including biological monitoring.

This course gives general awareness of controlling electroplating mists based on HSE guidance. It is not medical advice and does not replace a COSHH assessment, LEV examination, biological monitoring or occupational health advice.
