These terms explain how you can use Tutwoo, what you get with each plan, how payments, free trials and cancellations work, and what you and we are each responsible for. Please read them before you create an account or subscribe. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected].
1. About us
Tutwoo (www.tutwoo.com) is run by Tutwoo UK Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.
Company number: [to be added]
Registered office: 167–169 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5PF
Email: [email protected]
In these terms, “Tutwoo”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Tutwoo UK Limited. “You” means the person using the website or holding the account.
2. Using these terms
- By creating an account, starting a free trial or buying a subscription, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
- If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in our services. We will tell you by email before any change that affects your subscription takes effect. If you do not agree to a change, you can cancel before it applies.
3. Your account
- You need a free account to take lessons, save progress, use the AI tutor or subscribe.
- You must be 16 or over to create a Tutwoo account. If you are under 16, please use Tutwoo Kids, which is made for children and teenagers.
- You must be 18 or over to buy a subscription. If you are 16 or 17, a parent, guardian or other adult can buy a subscription for you.
- Please give accurate details, keep your password private and do not share your account. Each subscription is for one person.
- Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Our plans
Current prices and features are shown on our Pricing page. All prices are in pounds sterling. Tutwoo UK Limited is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added.
- Free – the first lesson of every course. No payment details needed.
- Tutwoo Plus (£9.99 a month) – every lesson, practice quiz and timed mock exam, certificates on completion, and the AI tutor (up to 300 AI answers a month). Includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Tutwoo Pro (£19.99 a month) – coming soon – everything in Tutwoo Plus, plus one 30-minute live one-to-one online session with a tutor each month. Tutwoo Pro is not on sale yet. We will tell you the full terms for live sessions before it goes on sale.
We add, update and occasionally retire courses to keep them accurate. We will not remove a feature that is a main part of your plan without telling you first and letting you cancel.
5. Free trials
- The Tutwoo Plus free trial lasts 7 days and is available once per person.
- You need to add a payment card when you start the trial, but nothing is taken during the trial. At checkout we show the date your trial ends and that your subscription will then continue at £9.99 a month unless you cancel.
- If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
6. Payments and renewals
- Subscriptions are paid monthly in advance and renew automatically each month until you cancel. Your first payment is taken when you subscribe (or when your free trial ends), and then on the same date each month.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.
- If a payment fails, we will let you know and try again. If we cannot take payment, your paid access may be paused until payment is made.
- If we change the price of your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies. You can cancel before then if you do not want to continue.
7. Cancelling your subscription
- You can cancel at any time, online, in your account under Billing → Subscriptions (choose Cancel Plan), or by emailing [email protected]. We will confirm your cancellation by email. Our Cancellations and refunds page explains the steps in more detail.
- When you cancel, you keep full access until the end of your free trial or the month you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. Your free account, progress and any certificates you have earned stay available.
8. Refunds and your right to cancel
- Free trial: if you cancel during your free trial, you are never charged.
- 14-day refund after your first payment: if you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, we will refund the rest of that month, minus the days you have used, worked out day by day. You don’t need to ask: just cancel online as normal and we will send the refund to the card you paid with within 14 days of you cancelling. This applies to your first payment for each subscription, not to later monthly payments.
- Later payments: you can cancel at any time to stop future payments. You keep access until the end of the month you have paid for, and that month’s payment is not refunded.
- Your request to start straight away: at checkout you ask us to start your plan straight away, so you can use everything immediately. We confirm this, and the 14-day refund above, in the email we send when your trial or subscription starts. Our 14-day refund gives you at least the protection of the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- Other refunds: we will also refund you if we have charged you by mistake, or where the law gives you a right to a refund, for example if the service is not as described or not fit for purpose (see section 16). Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
- Any refund goes back to the card you paid with. Our Cancellations and refunds page explains this with examples.
9. Live tutoring (Tutwoo Pro)
- Tutwoo Pro includes one 30-minute live one-to-one session each month. Sessions are online, through Google Meet or Zoom, and are booked through your dashboard.
- Unused monthly sessions do not carry over to the next month and have no cash value.
- If you need to rearrange, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. A session you miss without notice may count as used. If your tutor cannot attend, we will rebook the session at no cost to you.
- Learners under 18 may only take part in live sessions with the consent of a parent or guardian, who should be available nearby during the session.
- Please be respectful to tutors. We may end a session, and suspend live tutoring for an account, if a learner is abusive or behaves inappropriately.
- Extra paid sessions will be offered once live tutoring opens. Their price and booking terms will be shown before you buy.
10. The AI tutor
- The AI tutor uses artificial intelligence to explain course material and your answers. It is a study aid. It can occasionally make mistakes, so please check anything important against the lesson or official sources.
- It does not give legal, immigration, medical or financial advice, and it is switched off during timed mock exams.
- Do not share sensitive personal information with the AI tutor. Our Privacy Policy explains how questions you send it are processed.
- Tutwoo Plus includes up to 300 AI answers a month. The limit resets each month and unused answers do not carry over.
11. Tests, results and certificates
- Tutwoo is an independent learning and preparation platform. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the DVSA, the Home Office, CITB, IELTS, Cambridge English or any other official test provider or awarding body, unless we clearly say so.
- Our practice questions and mock exams are written to match the format and topics of the real tests, but they are not the official tests. We cannot guarantee that you will pass any test or exam.
- Tutwoo certificates show that you completed a Tutwoo course. Unless a course clearly says otherwise, they are not regulated qualifications, licences or official accreditations, and they do not replace any training or certification your employer or the law requires.
- Rules for official tests change. We work hard to keep courses up to date, but always check the official source before you book or sit a test.
12. Translations
Our website can be shown in other languages using an automatic translation tool. Automatic translations may contain mistakes, and the English version is the one that applies. To match the real tests, official test and mock exam courses are shown in English only.
13. Using our content
- Every course, lesson, quiz, mock exam and guide on Tutwoo is created in-house by Tutwoo and is our original work. All course content, questions, videos, illustrations, characters (including our owl tutors), downloads and software belong to Tutwoo UK Limited, apart from third-party items such as fonts and software that we use under licence.
- Where a course explains official rules or facts (for example from GOV.UK or the HSE), the facts themselves are public information. The way we explain, organise, illustrate and test them is ours.
- You may use them for your own personal learning. You must not copy, share, sell, publish or record them, scrape or bulk-download the site, or use our content to train or build other products, including AI models.
- You must not use Tutwoo in a way that breaks the law, harms other users or our systems, or tries to get around plan limits or security.
14. Things you post
If you post reviews, questions or comments, they must be your own, honest and lawful. You give us permission to show them on Tutwoo. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
15. Study Shop and affiliate links
- Products in our Study Shop are sold by other retailers, such as Amazon. When you click “View on Amazon”, you buy from that retailer, on its terms. It is responsible for the product, delivery, returns and refunds.
- As an Amazon Associate, Tutwoo earns from qualifying purchases. This does not change the price you pay.
- Product details and prices on the retailer’s site may change. Always check them before you buy.
16. If something goes wrong
- If you are a consumer, we must supply our services with reasonable care and skill and as described. If we do not, contact us and we will try to put it right. Where we cannot, you may be entitled to a price reduction or refund.
- We aim to keep Tutwoo available at all times, but there may be interruptions for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. We will try to keep these short.
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses (for example lost profit or business opportunity), because our services are for personal learning.
- If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
17. Suspending or closing accounts
- We may suspend or close an account if these terms are seriously broken, for example account sharing, copying content, abuse of tutors, or fraud. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will contact you first and give you a chance to put things right.
- If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund any payment for access you have not had.
- You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected].
18. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything, please email [email protected]. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to resolve complaints as quickly as we can.
19. Other important terms
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will tell you if this happens and it will not reduce your rights.
- If a court decides that part of these terms is unlawful, the rest will stay in force.
- If we delay in enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
