Tyre Changing & Inflation Safety

About Course

Inflated tyres contain a large amount of stored energy. When a tyre bursts or a multi-piece wheel separates during inflation, the explosive force can kill. Based on HSE’s motor vehicle repair guidance, this course covers the hazards of tyre removal, replacement and inflation, the use of restraints and cages, remote inflation, multi-piece wheels and safe manual handling.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures. Tyre fitting requires practical training on the specific wheels and equipment used.
