Tipping Vehicles: Safe Tipping & Preventing Overturns

About Course

Tipper lorries and tipping trailers can overturn when ground, loads or procedures are wrong, and raised bodies can strike overhead power lines. This course covers HSE guidance on choosing and preparing tipping areas, tipping safely, dealing with stuck loads and what to do if a vehicle starts to topple or touches a power line.

This course gives general awareness of safe tipping based on HSE and HSENI guidance. It does not replace practical training, manufacturers’ instructions or site-specific rules and risk assessments.
