About Course

Most injuries in the theatre industry relate to work at height and manual handling. This course explains the legal duties of employers, freelancers and venue operators, HSE’s hierarchy for work at height on stages and rigs (including tallescopes), manual handling during get-ins and get-outs, noise, and the specialist guidance for effects, stunts and productions.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures.
