Telehandler Safety Awareness

About Course

Telescopic handlers are versatile machines used on construction sites, farms and in industry – but they overturn and strike pedestrians with serious consequences. This course covers HSE guidance on the main risks, ground conditions, travelling with loads, visibility, operator competence, checks and LOLER thorough examination.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures. Operating a telehandler requires practical training, assessment and authorisation for the specific machine.
