RIDDOR: Dangerous Occurrences & Reporting Duties for Managers

About Course

Managers need to recognise not only reportable injuries but also dangerous occurrences – near misses with the potential to cause serious harm. This course explains the dangerous occurrences listed in Schedule 2 of RIDDOR 2013, the reporting timescales for notifying the enforcing authority, the record-keeping rules, and how to make reporting part of good incident management.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures.
