Petrol Filling Stations: Storage Certificates, DSEAR & Safe Dispensing

Wishlist Share

About Course

Petrol gives off highly flammable vapour, so filling stations are controlled by specific storage rules as well as general health and safety law. This course explains the Petroleum Storage Certificate system in Great Britain, how DSEAR applies, what forecourt staff must do to dispense safely, and how the rules differ in Northern Ireland.

This course gives general information about petrol storage and dispensing safety. It does not replace the site’s DSEAR risk assessment, the Blue Book and Red Guide, or advice from your Petroleum Enforcement Authority or district council. Fees and procedures can change, so check current guidance.
