Wishlist Share

About Course

X-rays, gamma rays, radioactive sources and radon are used or encountered in hospitals, dentistry, industry, research and construction. This course gives an awareness-level introduction to the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17): the graded approach of notification, registration and consent, radiation risk assessments, advisers and supervisors, local rules, classified workers and dose limits.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures. Work with ionising radiation must be planned with a radiation protection adviser.
