Health & Safety for the Self-Employed

About Course

Does health and safety law apply to you if you work for yourself? This course explains the test HSE uses in Great Britain – whether you employ anyone, whether your work could put others at risk, and whether you carry out one of six prescribed high-risk activities – and what you need to do if the law does apply.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures.
