About Course
Constipation is common in older people and those who are less mobile or taking certain medicines, and it can cause pain, confusion, falls, urinary problems and loss of appetite. Learn how to recognise it – including the misleading sign of “overflow” diarrhoea – how to help prevent it, and when to seek advice.
This course provides general awareness only. It does not replace clinical assessment, training from a qualified professional, or your organisation’s policies and procedures, and it is not an accredited qualification. If someone is seriously unwell, call 999.
