COMAH Awareness: Major Accident Hazards

About Course

Sites that store or use large quantities of dangerous substances can cause major accidents affecting workers, neighbours and the environment. This course explains the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015 (COMAH): who they apply to, the lower-tier and upper-tier duties, major accident prevention policies, safety reports, emergency plans and public information, and the part every worker plays.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures.
