About Course

The circular saw bench is one of the most dangerous machines in woodworking, with risks of blade contact and ejected workpieces. This course explains HSE’s key settings for the riving knife, top guard and fence, the safe use of push sticks and take-off tables, braking, and the training and supervision rules for young people.

This course gives general awareness of circular saw bench safety based on HSE guidance. It is not a substitute for practical, machine-specific training and supervision. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, L114 and your employer’s safe system of work.
