About Course

Business rates are a tax on non-domestic property such as shops, offices, pubs and warehouses. This course explains how rates are calculated in England after the 1 April 2026 revaluation, the new 2026/27 multipliers including lower rates for retail, hospitality and leisure, small business rate relief and other reliefs, and how to check or challenge your rateable value. Differences in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are flagged.

Tutwoo is an independent learning provider. This course gives general information about business rates in England, checked against GOV.UK in October 2026. Your council’s bill and decisions apply to you; this is not tax advice.
