Bites & Stings First Aid Awareness

About Course

Most insect bites and stings are minor, but some cause infections or severe allergic reactions, and animal and human bites can easily become infected. Learn first aid for insect stings, tick bites, animal and human bites and adder bites, and when to call 999 or seek NHS advice.

This course provides first aid awareness only. It does not replace practical, hands-on first aid training from a qualified provider, does not make you a qualified first aider and does not meet workplace first aid training requirements on its own. Always call 999 (or 112) in an emergency and follow your organisation’s procedures.

What Will You Learn?

  • Give first aid for bee and wasp stings and insect bites Remove a tick safely and know the signs of Lyme disease Treat animal and human bites and recognise infection Recognise anaphylaxis and know when to call 999
