Whistleblowing to a Prescribed Person

About Course

You do not always have to raise a concern with your employer first. Whistleblowing law lets workers report wrongdoing to a “prescribed person” – a regulator or other body with responsibility for that issue – and keep their legal protection. This course explains how it works, how to choose the right body and what to expect.

This course gives general information about whistleblowing law in Great Britain, with notes on Northern Ireland. It is not legal advice. The list of prescribed persons and their remits changes – always check the current GOV.UK list (or the Northern Ireland list) and consider advice from Acas, the charity Protect, a trade union or a lawyer.
