About Course
Electric and hybrid vehicles can run at up to 650 V dc – far above the 12/24 V systems mechanics are used to. Based on HSE guidance, this course explains the extra hazards, the four categories of work and the competence each needs, and how to isolate, prove dead and work safely on high-voltage systems, damaged vehicles and recoveries.
This course gives general awareness of electric and hybrid vehicle safety based on HSE guidance. It does not qualify anyone to work on high-voltage vehicle systems. Always follow manufacturers’ procedures, recognised training and your employer’s safe systems of work.
