Engineered Stone Worktops: Silica Dust Risks for Fabricators & Fitters

About Course

Engineered (artificial or quartz) stone used for kitchen and bathroom worktops can contain up to 95% crystalline silica, and cutting it can cause rapid, incurable silicosis. This course explains HSE’s 2026 guidance that dry cutting is unacceptable, the controls expected in workshops and on site, RPE and health surveillance, and the national inspection campaign.
