Incident Reporting in Schools: RIDDOR Explained

About Course

Most accidents in schools do not need to be reported to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) – but some do, and getting it wrong either way causes problems. Based on HSE’s guidance sheet EDIS1, this course explains who reports, which injuries to staff, pupils and visitors are reportable under RIDDOR 2013, worked examples from playgrounds to PE, and what records schools must keep.

This course provides general awareness of HSE guidance for schools in Great Britain. Check your employer’s reporting arrangements and contact HSE if you are unsure whether an incident is reportable.
