About Course

CCTV and body-worn cameras can protect staff and deter crime, but footage of identifiable people is personal data. Based on the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) guidance on video surveillance, this course explains how shops, venues and security teams can use cameras lawfully – from purpose and signage to body-worn video, retention, security and requests for footage.

This course provides general awareness of ICO guidance. It is not legal advice. Guidance may change following the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 – check the ICO website for updates.
