About Course

Before an attack, people with hostile intent usually gather information about their target. This course, based on ProtectUK and National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) guidance, explains what hostile reconnaissance is, how the Deny, Detect and Deter principles disrupt it, which behaviours to look out for, and how to respond and report safely.

This course provides general security awareness. It is not a substitute for your organisation’s security procedures or police advice. In an emergency always call 999.
