About Course
Commercial catering uses gas appliances at high output in busy, hot kitchens. Based on HSE’s catering information sheet CAIS23, this course covers the legal duties, Gas Safe engineers, ventilation and interlocks, flame failure devices, carbon monoxide alarms, maintenance and the daily user checks kitchen staff can make.
This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures. Only Gas Safe registered engineers may carry out gas work.
