About Course
Shingles is a painful rash caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus, and it is common in older people and those with weakened immune systems. Learn the symptoms, when to seek urgent advice, how antiviral treatment works, how to prevent spread in care settings, and who is eligible for the NHS shingles vaccine.
This course provides general infection prevention awareness only. It does not replace your organisation’s infection prevention and control policies, training from your IPC lead, or advice from your local health protection team, and it is not an accredited qualification.
