About Course
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot in a vein, usually in the leg, and part of it can break off and travel to the lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism (PE) – a medical emergency. Learn the symptoms, who is at risk, when to call 999, and how to help prevent clots in hospital, care settings, travel and desk-based work.
This course provides general awareness only. It does not replace clinical assessment, training from a qualified professional, or your organisation’s policies and procedures, and it is not an accredited qualification. If someone is seriously unwell, call 999.
