About Course

HSE reports that more than 60% of dumper deaths involve the driver being crushed when the vehicle overturns, and most others involve pedestrians being struck. This course explains how dumper accidents happen and the practical controls HSE expects: roll-over protection and seat belts, competent drivers, wheel stops at edges, safe loading, visibility and maintenance.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures. Driving a dumper requires practical training and authorisation for the specific machine.
