About Course

Waste and recycling work involves vehicles, machinery, heavy lifting and biological hazards, both at the kerbside and in recycling facilities. This course covers HSE’s guidance on transport safety and reversing, machinery and bale stacking, musculoskeletal risks, infection and hygiene, noise, asbestos in waste stream, and people sleeping in bins.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures.
