About Course

Quarries combine heavy mobile plant, high faces, tips, explosives, conveyors and dust. This course explains the Quarries Regulations 1999 – the operator’s duties, the health and safety document, inspections, permits and rules – the special controls on excavations and tips, and what every quarry worker, contractor and visitor needs to know.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures.
