Upper Limb Disorders & Repetitive Work

About Course

Upper limb disorders (ULDs) affect the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and neck, and are often linked to repetitive work, force and awkward postures. This course explains what ULDs are, the warning signs, the risk factors HSE identifies, how HSE’s Assessment of Repetitive Tasks (ART) tool works, and which ULDs must be reported under RIDDOR.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures. It is not medical advice; anyone with symptoms should seek advice from a GP or occupational health professional.
