Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Awareness

About Course

Local exhaust ventilation (LEV) captures dust, fume, mist, gas and vapour at source before workers breathe it in – but only if it is designed, used and maintained properly. This course explains how LEV works, the COSHH requirements for thorough examination and testing, the documents you should have, and the routine checks that keep LEV effective.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures.
