Leading Health & Safety: A Guide for Directors

About Course

Health and safety must be led from the top. Based on HSE and Institute of Directors guidance (INDG417), this course explains the essential principles of leadership, a Plan–Do–Check–Act agenda for boards, the questions directors should be asking, and the personal legal liabilities directors face when things go wrong.

This course gives general, awareness-level information about UK health and safety law and official guidance. It is not a substitute for employer-specific training, a suitable and sufficient risk assessment for your own workplace, or advice from a competent person, and it is not an accredited qualification. Always check the latest official guidance and follow your organisation’s own procedures. It does not give legal advice on any individual director’s position.
